About JanetJanet traded running on the beach for hiking in the Sangres in 2013 when she and her husband, Greg, moved from the South Carolina Lowcountry to the Colorado High Country. A Kansas native, Janet spent her summer vacations camping in Colorado and longed to return to the mountains. In addition to hiking, she is an avid skier.
Her work with Trails for All began with a successful grant to explore the development and promotion of Custer County’s trails. That effort led to the creation of Trails for All in 2018. Janet’s primary career was in newspapers. She was managing editor and editorial page editor at The (Hilton Head) Island Packet, where she focused on economic and environmental issues. From 2016 to 2021, Janet was the development director at San Isabel Land Protection Trust until its merger with Colorado Open Lands. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and an MBA, both from the University of Kansas. |
